Note VAP-61 NoticeNote

Note NOTICE: "...My husband, John J. Staudt, died on November 24, 2003. John was a 10 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served at NAS Jacksonville, Florida in Heavy Photo Recon Squadron VAP-62 in the early 1960's. I am trying to locate anyone who can prove that his squadron or squadron VAP-61 flew missions over Viet Nam or anyplace in Southeast before 1963. Please respond to jmstaudt@bellsouth.net..." Note NOTICE: "...VAP-61 USS Forrestal (CV-59) Det: I would like to contact anyone from this squadron who was aboard Forrestal during the fire. I am doing illustrations of aircraft aboard that day for a book about the fire being done by the Forrestal Association historian, Ken Killmeyer. I realize that the RA-3B was airborne that morning. However, I am looking for information/photos about its BuNo and modex. There are enough photos on this site to help me with the general information. I just need specifics about the aircraft on USS Forrestal (CV-59). Thank you for your help...Jim Caiella caiella@aol.com..." [29AUG2002]
