Plane was turning up on ramp preparing to go on a local training flight. A quick release hook was employed on tail of plane connected to other end of tractor to retard planes speed down ramp, hook gave way; plane gained speed and beach crew pulled back on tail wheel bar attempting to retard forward movement of plane. Side wheels of beaching gear hit ramp curbing at water level. Curbing caused keel to be crushed, starboard wing tip float torn off. Plane rested in this position until it could be hoisted back onto another set of beaching gear.
Repairable damage: Starboard chine damaged, starboard wing float torn and Sister Kelsons damaged.
