A BIT OF HISTORY: VP-23 History "...1983 VP-23 NAS Bermuda Cruisebook (Commanding Was CDR H J Tickle... funny name huh? He had the look of Capt Steubing on the Love boat series. CDR Moore was XO who in the order of things became CO later on. The command Master Chief was AFCM Gray...a great guy he retired after we returned to NAS Brunswick, Maine) - LJ-12 ?? Did not exist - LCDR Callaham was the Admin Officer PPC and LTJG Morton, Pilot Was Asst Personnel officer on CAC-12 The Dirty Dozen, deployed to our DET-South in Panama in support of Big Pines II. The attached photo of LCDR Callahan in LJ-12 was just for them...Three sub kills? LJ-12 did not exist officially, but LJ-2 with a stick on One did just the trick. The crew photo looked more like a SeaBee crew than a flight crew. Id scan it but the binding is right thru the photo. I still want to know who CPO Square was... each crew had 12 members...."
