A BIT OF HISTORY: "...These are some pics from VP-23 during WWII. the first one is my dad, Harry LaBrie (ACOM) at the time in the plane in the Solomon Islands(Tulagi), the second is a rescue of a downed pilot(one of many made by VP-23) off Naru. My dad has many stories. He tells how the natives in New Hebrides loved the rock hard navy bread and they would trade for it.
