BOOKs:  Title: AWACS and HAWKEYES - The Complete History of Airborne Early Warning Aircraft "...Chapter Two contains an excellent explaination about the barrier patrols on both coasts (VW-1, VW-2, VW-3 and VW-4 on the West Coast and VW-11, VW-13 and VW-15 on the East Coast).
