Veterans of Patrol Squadron Five will hold their semi-annual Reunion in Jacksonville, FL from April 26 through April 30, 2006, at the Baymeadows Holiday Inn, I-95 at Baymeadows Rd. This location is about 15 minutes from NAS Jacksonville, Florida. Should you require lodging, the Holiday Inn reservation number is 1-800-828-1191, Group Reservation Code is 2PMF.
Former VP-5 Squadron members are cordially invited to our banquet which will be held on the last night of the Reunion, Saturday, April 29, at 6:30PM. There will be many veterans in attendance who were from the 1960's era and who were friends of the crew of LA-9. The theme for this year's Reunion banquet will be "closure" for the LA-9 Crew, and for our efforts to bring them home.
There will be a tour for the Reunion attendees, of the VP-5 squadron Hqs. @ NAS Jacksonville, Florida on Friday, April 28, which you would be welcome to attend if you care to.
Mr. Jeffrey Lehrberg, former USN Combat Camerman 2nd Class Petty Officer, a member of the 2004 Greenland Recovery team, has accepted our offer to be the banquet guest speaker. Jeffrey is now discharged from the navy and is attending college.
I believe that Maj. J.P.Cole, the leader of the 1966 Recovery Mission, will again be attending the banquet.
