Mark had been practicing for an upcoming aeorbatic competition planned for next week in Warrenton, VA. No further reports regarding the cause of the crash. Mark's first tour was in a VP squadron from NAS Brunswick, Maine. He then reported to VT-28 as a flight instructor in 1992 where I first met him as the Commanding Officer of VT-28. He was an outstanding IP, first class gentlemen and sharp as a tack especially in software development and IT, which is the line of work he chose to pursue after leaving active duty. He worked for a small company here in the DC area. Mark was not married. Following active duty Mark affiliated with a VP reserve squadron up at NAS Willow Grove, Pennsylvania but I am not sure which squadron. I am asking for any assistance one can provide me concerning getting the word out to some of his old Shipmates from NAS Brunswick, Maine, CCTX or the NAS Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Became part of VS-73 when they came out with the "One Navy" concept. I will say that 73 was the best VS squadron in the Navy reserve. When they eliminated the VS we transitioned to the P-3 as VP-93. I was with VP-93 from commissioning in 1976 until I moved to N. Carolina in 1980. Brian would lay some FE knowledge on you, and no matter how far behind the power curve you (I) might have been, he would never make you (me) feel stupid. He posessed no ego whatsoever, and once he put on khaki, he never forgot where he came from. True to that credo, he always tried to pull others up to where he was. Any old Shipmates drop a line...I was stationed on board NAS Glenview, Illinois from 1992-1994 assigned to the Aircrew Training Department as a P-3 Flight Engineer/Simulator Instructor. After that I was given a chunk of RWY 35/17 which all the crew signed and I have on my desk now. I am trying to find a NAS Glenview, Illinois patch for my collection.
