FLYNN, AW1 Brian Joseph "Flynnman" brian.j.flynn@us.army.mil "...Hello to all former and current reserve VP flight crews and maintainers. Seems we've come full circle from the days of Us and them (Reserve vs. Active) to integration into Active Duty Ops cylces to Reserve Patron almost disappearing. I enjoyed my experiences from VP-0810, VP-MAU, RATCEN, VP-92, and VP-64 ending at MOCC Atlantic. I sought out my own options at High Year Tenure and transferred to PA Guard; out of the SS3 seat and into the pan so to speak. Currently slated for deployment (OIF) as S2 NCOIC, 1-111 IN/56 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, PA Guard. A special 'HOWGOZIT' to VP-64 CAC 11 who caused the ASWOC to come up on the range net because THEY HAD NEVER SEEN A TARGET SUITCASED SO EFFECTIVELY that they had to compliment us. Best regards..." GREEN, AT1(NAC) Richard (Rich) J. Sr. Retired richard.j.green@lmco.com "...I started out with VP-30 NAS Patuxent River, Maryland (I'm dating myself!) for aircrew training in late 1972/early 1973, joined VP-26 Crew 2 as a Flight Communications Operator in P-3Bs from 1973 to 1976, did a short (2 months) stint with NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, then on to VP-31 as an FCO Instructor in Bs and Bmods (Super Bees) from 1977 to 1979, went to NAS Pensacola, Florida for Aircrew Candidate School and ended up going into the Reserves! Joined VP-0810 NAS South Weymouth, Massachusetts then moved across the hall to VP-92 as an FCO/Instructor in P-3As and P-3Bmods from 1979 to 1985. Broke service for a few years then I then went to VP-64 NAS Willow Grove, Pennsylvania as FCO/Instructor/IFT in P-3As again then P-3C Update 2s as IFT from 1989 to 1994, and finally down the hall to VP-66 in P-3C Update 2s and EP-3Js (we got them from VAQ-33 when they were distestablished) as IFT until I retired in July 1998. Didn't stop working on P-3s then, though, went to Lockheed Martin Greenville, SC for the next 5 1/2 years working on the P-3 AIP Mod program as an Avionics Post Mod tester until this last March, when I moved to Marietta, GA to work on the F/A-22 program. I will miss being around the old P-3. I've seen a lot of stuff from a lot of people I knew back when. Y'all keep in touch!..." [08JUL2004]
