ReunionsREUNIONs: "...Dear VP-94 Crawfisher Alumni. After investigating multiple French Quarter hotel properties and on-site crawfish boil catering, I've discovered that lodging costs are a bit high for that weekend due to multiple festivals and weddings ($175-225), and no one would accomodate an on-site crawfish boil. Our April 21st, 2012 (Saturday) event will be held again at the Cajun Pride Swamp Tour facility in LaPlace. I've secured discounted rooms at the Kenner Hilton Garden Inn, which is on Lake Ponchartrain by The Treasure Chest Casino. Without a doubt, we'll "pass a good time". Clarifying details will be posted to our VP-94 Crawfisher Alumni Yahoo Group however, the following are applicable links for initial analysis: http://www.cajunprideswamptours.com/ and http://www.hiltongardeninn.com/en/gi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=MSYKPGI. Wishing you health and happiness over the holiday season..." Contributed by BLOODWORTH, Patrick K. flynavyp3s@yahoo.com [07NOV2011]

50 to 74

Basically you get Crawfish, potatoes, sausage, corn, soft drinks, bottled water, dessert. $40.00 p.p.

Transport $16.00 p.p. round trip

75 to 100

Cost for crawfish boil $37.00 p.p.

Transport $16.00 p.p.

The above food prices are adult rates I will of course adjust the food cost price for children. This is easier to do once I know how many children and adults to approximately expect. I will give the parents the best possible price I can. Normally the cost of a swamp tour without transport is $24.00 for adults and normally I charge $8.00 p.p. if the group is having food here but in this case I will include the tour with the cost of the food as a special military discount. TOUR FREE!

UPDATE "...I retired as an AWC during our final NATOPS/crawfish boil in APR05. In AUG05 Hurricance Katrina scattered our people and hardware across the country. On 31MAR06, VP-94 was disestablished without a ceremony. This didn't set well with the Crawfishers. On 13MAY06 ~165 squadron members and guests from all over the US came to Cajun Pride Swamp Tours in LaPlace, LA for a Disestablishment/Reunion Party. We savored ~800#s of hot boiled crawfish, took fascinating swamp tours, laughed together, told sea stories and re-bonded. Some hadn't seen one another for 30 years! Squadron members in attendance ranged from P2 Neptune personnel in NOV70 to P-3 UII.5 personnel in MAR06. It was a great success. We're organizing an Alumni Association, and making preliminary plans for another celebration in 2 years. Squadron personnel who've not yet registered at the vp94crawfisheralumni Yahoo Group should do so for periodic updates and chatter. To my dying day, I'll always cherish the fascinating AW! Training, as well as thousands of hours of varied P-3 Operations and Soviet submarine ASW missions. Simply superb...BLOODWORTH, AWC Pat Retired flynavyp3s@yahoo.com..." [05JUN2006]
