Memorial Picture "...LINDSLEY, Ralph Eugene...(April 23, 1935 to December 23, 2002) transferred his membership from our United Methodist Church to the Church Eternal. Memorial service was held December 26, 2002. Ashes are to be scattered at sea by Naval personnel, so wrote his wonderful wife of 37 years. I was stationed with Ralph in VP-5 in the late 50's, but never knew him by any name except Red. I reunited with him on the internet, thanks to http://www.vpnavy.org. My memories of Red were nothing short of great. He was a good man. As one example, Red was Plane Captain and selected a guy named Jiles as his second mech. Jiles went on to become Plane Captain and took over his own crew, but Red opened the gate. Jiles, you see, was an African American. God bless you Red; Gods speed...M. P. Walsh Papa2vctr@aol.com..." NELSON, Ed ewnelson@juno.com "...I was a PPC in Photographic Squadron VPP-2 attached to the Atlantic Fleet way back in 1946 and 1947. So far haven't seen anything about the photographic squadrons that used the PBY-1 aircraft. Did I miss it? Would like to hear from anyone that might be interested in photographic squadrons..."
