Circa 1933

HistoryA BIT OF HISTORY: "...From the time of her arrival at NAS North Island, San Diego, California, on 20 February 1932 until 10 September 1939, USS Wright (AV-1) made 14 extended cruises in support of naval seaplane squadrons. The first of those began when she departed San Diego on 1 May 1933 for an aviation transport run that included an inspection by Rear Admiral John Halligan, Commander, Aircraft Squadrons, Battle Force, of the Fleet Air Base (FAB) at Pearl Harbor. After returning to San Diego on 4 June, Wright operated along the west coast, followed by a cruise to Panama and the Caribbean, between 31 August and 14 October, tending the planes from VP-2F, VP-5F, VP-10, and VU-3...."
