A BIT OF HISTORY: "...FASRON 9- Before I transferred to FASRON 6 at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, I served for one year in VF-22 working out of (then) NAAS (Naval Auxiliary Air Station) Cecil Field, Florida. Cecil was about half the size of mainside NAS Jacksonville, Florida, and hosted about half as many aircraft as Jax. Carrier Air Group 4, of which we were a part, and several VP groups were serviced by FASRON 9 during the same time frame as FASRON 6: (1940s-1950s)..." Contributed by Robert E.
