In January 1980, Reconnaissance Attack Wing One was disestablished and Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron Thirty-Three (VAQ-33) was relocated from Norfolk, Virginia to Key West..."

HistoryA BIT OF HISTORY: "...Squadron was home based at NAS Atlantic City, New Jersey until Mar 1958 when the squadron was moved to NAS Quonset Pt. R.I. as NAs Atlantic City was to be closed. We flew the AD-5N aircraft until April 59 when the squadron mission was changed and we switched to AD-5Q aircraft. I left the squadron in Dec 59 as the squadron mission had changed and the squadron no longer had a weapons launching need. all of the ordnancemen were transferred to other activities in the Quonset Pt.
