FROST, AT2 Richard raf4rc@hotmail.com "...I served with VAW-11 (transfered) after VAW-35 was diestablished in 1959 at NAS North Island, San Diego, California. I was one of first 5 enlisted Airborne Controllers sent to school for this training (ASW/AD5W). Our detachment Tango (1960) was aboard the Yorktown CVS 10 (WesPac). I still have my cruisebook from that deployment. Upon return, was an instructor for ASW future deployments till September 1960. I was discharged (Honorably) as an AT2 after 3 years active. Anybody from that era or who was on the detachment please comment..." [27MAY2004]
