HistoryA BIT OF HISTORY: "...An old buddy of mine, Paul Miller, from the Bermuda days in VP-49 recently ran across "The Site". He became interested in who remembered who and who went where. His scanner was not in working order so he, using my e-mail from "The Site", contacted me with the offer to send me the squadron official photograph ( NAS Bermuda E. J. Fisher, Commanding - 5-3-52) if I would in turn, pass it along..." Contributed by ROIDT, AM2 Mike lvmroidt@aol.com [13SEP2001]

HistoryA BIT OF HISTORY: "...I have been reading the history of my old squadron and find no mention of "Operation MAINBRACE" in 1952 I believe when the squadron was deployed to the lake adjacent to Trondhiem, Norway with the seaplane tender, USS Currituck (AV-7), as the base. I remember changing a damaged float hanging about 50 feet above the water in a snowstorm. Very vivid memory as was the liberty stopover in Edinbourough, Scotland after the operation..."
