Served with VP-702 from 1967 to August 1970. Company transfer took me to Chicago area...joined up with the new VP-60 at NAS Glenview, Illinois. Last year in the program, 1972, we did our summer cruise in NS Rota, Spain as part of the new program post "Pueblo spy ship" situation in Korea. Most time was "ground pounder" and BB changer but did some neat RONs, including one from NAS Dallas, Texas to NAS Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada. The NAS Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada trip was with our skipper, Captain Kelly, super nice guy..." [27NOV2011]

I flew as an enlisted Aircrewman with VP-1 in 1962/1963 in YB-3. My pilot was named ME Houston, (at one time the youngest P2V Aircraft Commander in the Navy). One crewmember was Jim Baker. Got off AD and joined VP-702 at NAS Dallas as ATN-2. Flew for two years and got out. Joined the Air Guard at DAllas and still am on Active Duty as Colonel (couldn't make First Class-easier to be an Officer). Love to hear from any former Shipmates..." [16AUG98]
